Chief Adviser Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of eminent poet Helal Hafiz.
In a condolence message, Dr. Yunus said the death of Helal Hafiz, a poet known for his themes of rebellion and love, is an irreplaceable loss to the Bengali language and literary world.
The Chief Adviser prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
Dr. Yunus remarked that Helal Hafiz was a symbol of youthful energy and a fearless voice against tyranny.
Eminent poet Helal Hafiz passes away
Poet Helal Hafiz would remain immortal in the hearts of the people, as his timeless poetry continues to inspire generations, he added.
According to BSMMU authorities, the poet suffered a fatal injury following a fall in the bathroom of Super Home, a residence located in Shahbagh, Dhaka, at about 2:30 pm.
The poet was taken to BSMMU where he was pronounced dead.
His namaz-e-janaza will be held at the National Press Club after Zuhr prayer on Saturday, according to journalist Mahmud Hafiz.
