He said the Dhaka city corporations, LGRD and health ministries have to work in a coordinated manner.
“There’s no doubt that aedes mosquitoes and dengue have spread across the country. Newspaper reports indicate that dengue has already spread to 64 districts and infected 19,000 people,” he said replying to a question before the start of cleanliness programme in front of the Awami League central office for the second day.
“Effective medicine will be imported soon to stop spread of aedes mosquitoes,” he said, adding that the government is taking all measures to stop the spread of dengue.
He said the ruling party’s countrywide ‘action programme’ will continue until the spread of dengue is stopped.
Awami League Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organising Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Biplob Barua and General Secretary of the party’s Dhaka south unit Shahe Alam Murad, among others, attended the programme.
