Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Friday delivered food items to the doorsteps of 2,221 city dwellers who feel embarrassed to receive those standing in queues for social dignity.
A total of 12,149 people called the hotlines of DSCC and 3,683 of them sought food assistance, said Uttam Kumar Roy, DSCC public relations officer.
Food items were delivered to 2,221 households while the process to deliver those to 1,462 people is underway, he said.
Uttam also said DSCC has been implementing this programme of delivering food items to the doorsteps of city dwellers who feel embarrassed to stand in queues.
Interested city dwellers have been urged to call hotline numbers at 01709900703 and 01709900704 avail themselves of the services.
Meanwhile, regular disinfection activities are underway in the DSCC area, the PRO said.
