Law enforcers have arrested 110 people and recovered 243 of looted firearms during the ongoing nationwide joint operation till Monday.
The drive started on September 4.
The breakdown of the 243 looted arms that have been recovered is as follows: 13 revolvers, 67 pistols, 14 rifles, 31 shotguns, six pipe guns, 24 shutter guns, 25 LGs, 39 guns, one AK47, two gas guns, five air guns, seven SBBL, five SMG, two tear gas luncer and two three-quarters.
A large number of arms and ammunition were looted from the armouries of police stations and other protected zones as police in many cases abandoned their posts before and after August 5.
Members of the Bangladesh Army have also been working to recover the looted arms across the country.
