Initially, it is believed that when Shafiqur Rahman was returning after Fazr prayers in the morning, he was first attacked. Later, the miscreants killed his wife on the second floor, said Inspector Tawhidul.
The main gate of the building and the door of couples’ flat were found open. The almirah was also found open.
The upper two floors and one side of the ground floor were rented out.
Their son Emon, a sub-inspector (SI) of Special Branch of Police, and his wife also live in the house.
However, they were not present at the house on Wednesday night.
