Police recovered the bullet-hit body of a suspected criminal from Dhulihar in Sadar upazila early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Ahed Ali, son of Nabat Ali Gazi of Tamaltala in Dhulihar.
Asaduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said tipped off that two groups of criminals were exchanging gunfire, a team of police went to the spot in the early hours on Friday.
Sensing presence of the law enforcers, the criminals flee the scene.
Later, police recovered the body of Ahed Ali.
One shutter gun, two bullets and a sharp weapon were recovered from the spot.
Ahed Ali was wanted in six criminal cases including that of two murders, said police.
