A team of Counter Terrorism and Bomb Disposal Unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) defused a crude bomb found in front of the room of Government Bangabandhu Technical and ICT Institute principal in Gurudaspur upazila of Natore early today.
Inspector Shafiuddin Sheikh who led the team said they defused the crude bomb in an open space on the institute’s campus around 1:15 am and collected samples for analysis.

Earlier, on Saturday morning, the institute’s principal Saidur Rahman found a parcel wrapped with polythene in front of his office room. The package arrived as a “mango parcel for Principal Saidur Rahman”.
However, there was no name of sender or address. Later, he informed police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) of the matter.

A RAB team from Rajshahi visited the spot and found the presence of the crude bomb.
Later, the bomb disposal unit from Dhaka rushed to the spot around 10:30 pm last night and defused it around 1:15 am.
No one has so far been detained, and no case has been filed yet in this connection, according to UNB’s Natore correspondent.
