Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route remained halted from Thursday night due to dense fog.
Ferry services were stopped at 10:30pm due to thick fog, said Mohiuddin Russel, manager of Aricha region of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC).
Meanwhile, four ferries -- Shahjalal, Matiur, Hasna Hena and Rajanigandha – were stuck in the middle of the Padma River, he added.
The BIWTC official also said over 100 trucks carrying goods remained stranded on both sides of the route.
A mild cold wave has been sweeping across the country as the mercury dropped slightly, forcing people to limit their outdoor activities in many districts.
Thursday’s lowest temperature was recoded in Chuadanga at 7.9 Degrees Celsius.
The Met office said temperature may remain unchanged for the next two days.
