Dhaka Metropolitan Police has denied BNP and Awami League permission to hold programmes at all entry points of the capital on Saturday considering the intelligence reports of deteriorating law and order and public suffering, the DMP commissioner said today.

The DMP commissioner announced the decision in a statement to the media on Friday night.
The statement said, "BNP and Awami League have announced a sit-in programme from 11 am to 4 pm at all entry points of the capital on Saturday. The political parties did not take any permission from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police to hold the programme. Considering the intelligence reports of deteriorating law and order and public suffering, the DMP did not allow all the political parties to observe the position of tomorrow."
