Eminent Bangladeshi actress Sharmili Ahmed passed away at the age of 75 on Friday.
Ahsan Habib Nasim, the president of Actors' Equity Bangladesh, told the media that the actress had been suffering from cancer for a long time.
"On Friday morning as her condition deteriorated, she was taken to a private hospital in Dhaka from her Uttara residence, where she breathed her last," he said.
However, Shuborna Mustafa, another eminent actress and Member of Parliament, wrote in her Facebook post that the legendary actress "breathed her last at her home this morning".
