The Health Department has introduced new guidelines and measures at airports and other entry points to mitigate the risk of Mpox (Monkeypox) infection.
Daud Adnan, Deputy Director of the Health Department's Hospital and Clinic Division, confirmed that health camps have already been established at three major airports and entry points following a meeting held yesterday. "We’ve set up these camps to enhance screening and preventive measures," Adnan stated.
He added that more detailed information, including public advisories, will be shared at a follow-up meeting scheduled for August 22.
"The Health Department has determined the measures to be implemented at airports. However, the disclosure of specific details regarding these measures will be decided by the airport authorities," Adnan clarified.
In addition to the airport measures, the Health Department has called on the public to stay alert to the symptoms of Mpox and to take necessary precautions.
