The European Union and its member states in Dhaka have expressed their disappointment over the loss of life and violence on the streets of Dhaka.
“The European Union and its Member States in Dhaka are deeply saddened to see the loss of life and violence on the streets of Dhaka,” the Delegation of the EU in Dhaka took to the X, formerly known as twitter, on Sunday.

They said it is vital that a peaceful way forward for participatory and peaceful elections is found.
Earlier, the United States condemned the political violence in Dhaka.
"We call for calm and restraint on all sides and will review all violent incidents for possible visa restrictions," said US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu.
The reported killing of a police officer, a political activist, and the burning of a hospital are unacceptable, he said in a statement on Saturday night.

The US also said violence against civilians, including journalists, is unacceptable.
A policeman and a political activist were killed and another cop and two Ansar members are fighting for lives after Saturday’s clash between BNP men and the law enforcers.
