In a heartrending incident early Sunday in Babukhali village, Magura, a 65-year-old farmer, Moyen Uddin Mollah, discovered his cowshed ablaze, resulting in the loss of his cow and four goats to the flames.
Shortly after the tragedy, Moyen experienced severe chest pain. Despite the swift response of family members and neighbors who transported him to a local doctor, he succumbed to what was suspected to be a heart attack around 1 am.
The fire is believed to have been sparked by a mosquito coil Moyen had lit to protect his livestock from mosquitoes, ironically leading to the devastating blaze.
Nipul Mollah, the farmer's son, quantified the loss at approximately Tk 3 lakh.
In response to the calamity, Mohammadpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Borhan-ul-Islam reported that an unnatural death case has been registered.
