FBCCI President mourns death of Akij Group Director Sheikh Momin


FBCCI President Sheikh Fazle Fahim expressed deep shock at the death of Sheikh Momin Uddin, one of the country's top businessmen and Director of Akij Group and Managing Director of SAF Leather Industries.

In a condolence message, the FBCCI President said, "We are saddened by the death of Sheikh Momin, the director of Akij Group.”

He also expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family and wished peace to the departed soul.

Sheikh Momin Uddin is the son of late Sheikh Akij Uddin, the founder of Akij Group. He was 63.

The eminent businessman has left behind his wife, three daughters, a son and a host of relatives to mourn his death.

During the ’80s, Momin Uddin took charge of an abandoned SAF leather factory at Taltola in Abhaynagar Upazila of Jessore. 

He then modernized the ailing factory and turned it into the best leather factory of the country.  In 2009, 2010, 2011 he won the National Export Trophy (Gold) for exporting leather and leather products abroad.
