Authorities conducted the first phase of a trial run of metro rail from Agargaon to Motijheel section on Friday.
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader officially inaugurated the test run of the train at 4:35 pm.

Obaidul Quader said the inauguration of metro rail’s trial run from Agargaon to Motijheel section is another milestone of the Sheikh Hasina government's mega project.
After completion of the trial run by October 15, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will open it for the public, he added.
However, the Bridges Minister did not reveal the exact date of the inauguration.

According to DMTCL, the first step in the trial run is the proficiency test or performance test. The second step will be the 'System Integration Test'. The final stage will be 'trial run' or experimental movement. All these three steps of movement are considered as experimental movement.
The prime minister formally inaugurated the Uttara-Agargaon section of MRT-6 on December 28 last year.

At first, only three stations on this route were open to the public. Later, all nine stations on the Uttara-Agargaon route became operational in phases.
