During the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor briefed the President on the issues to be taken up for the establishment of the university.
Congratulating the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor, President Hamid said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University in Kishoreganj will play an important role in spreading higher education in the country, especially in the Haor region.
He said that every plan should be taken into consideration so that far-reaching thoughts are reflected in the establishment.
He also said "The world is changing fast. We have to keep an eye on the educational activities so that they can keep pace with the updated world.”
He also added that priority should be given so that students get a congenial learning environment and gain knowledge about the country and the great Liberation War.”
The Vice-Chancellor sought the overall cooperation of the President in running the university.
Secretary to the President's Office Sampad Barua, Military Secretary Major General SM Salah Uddin Islam, Press Secretary Joynal Abedin, and Secretary (attached) Wahidul Islam Khan were present on the occasion.
