Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen Monday urged all to play a part in building a better world for children with all the facilities and enjoyment they deserve.
He reminded all about the responsibility that everyone has in building a better world for the country's young boys and girls.
"We want to build a beautiful future for the children," said the foreign minister while speaking at a discussion on Sheikh Russel Day at the Foreign Service Academy (FSA).
Dr Momen said steps should be taken to ensure that no mother's lap turns empty and that all parents can be proud of their children.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam, Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen and curator of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum NI Khan also spoke.
The foreign minister said they do not want to see any innocent child face brutality. "We want to make sure that our children enjoy the quality life and care what the children get in the developed countries."
Shahriar Alam said that Bangabandhu was a staunch supporter of Bertrand Russell and he also named his youngest son Russell with the desire to develop his son as a progressive, humane and free-thinking man.
It was under the influence of Bangabandhu that these qualities developed in the child Sheikh Russell, said the State Minister.
"If Sheikh Russell had not been killed by the assassins, we might have got another great man like Bertrand Russell," he added.
