The historic March 7 marks the day when Bangabandhu delivered his historic speech at the Racecourse Ground (now Suhrawardy Udyan) in Dhaka on March 7, 1971 igniting the flame of independence in the hearts of millions on the eve of the War of Independence.

In recognition and memory of this pivotal moment in the history of Bangladesh, Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud paid homage to the memories of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman along with his party colleagues.
Senior officials of the ministry led by the Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen laid a floral wreath at Bangabandhu's portrait at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi 32.
