The gold price marked an all-time high and reached Tk 1,01,244 per bhori in domestic market after the latest price hike.
Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS) on Thursday raised gold prices by Tk2,216 from Friday (Aug 25). As a result, a bhori of 22-carat gold will be sold at Tk 1,01,244 in the domestic market, a press release said.

A press release signed by MA Hannan Azad, Chairman of BAJUS Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee, on Thursday said that the new price of gold will be effective from Friday.
The new price of gold is the highest in the history of the country. Earlier, the highest price was Tk 1 lakh 7 hundred and 77.

The notification said that the price of acidic gold has increased in the local market. Considering the overall situation, the Bangladesh Jewelers Association has fixed the new price of gold.
According to the new price, the price of the best quality or 22-carat (11.664 grams) gold will be Tk101244. The price of 21-carat solid gold is Tk96636, 18-carat is Tk82814 and the traditional gold price is Tk69051.
However, the price of silver has been kept unchanged. According to the category, currently, 22 carat silver price is Tk1715 per bhori, 21 carat price is Tk1633, 18 carat price is Tk1400, and traditional method silver price is Tk1050 per bhori.

The price of gold was fixed on August 17, till today according to that price, good quality or 22-carat gold is sold at Tk99 thousand 27 per bhori, 21-carat gold at Tk94 thousand 5 hundred and 95, 18-carat gold at Tk81 thousand 65, and traditional method gold is sold for Tk67 thousand 5 hundred and 35 per bhori.
