He said the government is providing food to the low- and middle-income groups.
The State Minister made the remarks while distributing food and health care items at Rotary High School at Mirpur-13.
Food and health protection materials were distributed among 200 families at Mirpur 14 no Staff Quarter area as part of the ongoing relief activities in Mirpur on behalf of the Minister of State for Industries.
Each family was given 10kg rice, 2kg pulses, 2kg potatoes, a bar of soap, a hand sanitiser and other food items.
He said economic activities around the world have come to a standstill due to the coronavirus pandemic. The implementation of the stimulus packages announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to make the economy active and dynamic has already started. Besides, stern action would be taken if there are any irregularities.

"Under the monitoring of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, boro paddy harvesting in haor areas has already been completed. At present, the country has sufficient stock of paddy and other food grains," said Kamal Ahmed.
