“Various equipment procured in the name of the health sector are left unused,” he said while talking to reporters at his residence in the district town.

The BNP leader said, “Corona vaccine will be collected by people involved with the government from India giving one and half dollars extra.”
Fakhrul bemoaned that politicians are unable to play their due rule because of the ‘authoritarian’ rule in the country.
“Even in the 50 years of independence, political parties have not been able to play a creative role. Awami League still wants to stay in power by enforcing British-era politics,” he observed.

The BNP leader said the politicians are facing serious adversities as Awami Leagued established a despotic rule like Ayub Khan and HM Ershad.
“What had happened during Ershad and Ayub Khan regimes is happening now under the Awami League rule. Awami League has now become a party of authoritarianism and plundering.”
Fakhrul renewed their party’s stance against the use of Electric Voting Machine (EVM) in elections, saying there are many scopes for rigging votes with it.

He said a credible election with ballot papers under a neutral government is required for establishing a pro-people and democratic government.
Fakhrul said 2020 is a bad year for not only Bangladesh but also for the entire world.
He said the nation witnessed huge corruption and the widespread incidents of rape and other human rights violation in the outgoing year.

Fakhrul hoped that people will make united efforts in the coming year to restore their basic rights.
