“The government has relentlessly been working to create skilled human resources, including bringing the women to the forefront by providing various types of training, IT-based education, loans without collateral and incentives up to the grassroots level in every sector,” she said joining a function at her constituency in Rangpur through a virtual platform.
Karmasangsthan Bank’s Pirganj branch arranged the function to distribute cheques of ‘Bangabandhu Youth Loan’ among trained youths at the Pirganj Upazila auditorium on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, said a press release of Parliament.
Addressing the event as the chief guest, Dr Chaudhury said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working tirelessly for building a happy and prosperous digital Bangladesh for the family, social, economic and the overall development of the people of the country.
She said there should be concerted effort from all to implement the goal of the Prime Minister as she is moving forward to create opportunities for the young generation through their capacity-building.
About Bangabandhu loan scheme of the Karmasangsthan Bank, the Speaker said it is an effective step for the development of youths.
She expected that the country and the nation will move forward by using the young generation due to creation of opportunities and capacity-building.
She said the two things – creation of opportunities through donation and loans and capacity-enhancement through various trainings— are being done simultaneously.
Appreciating the activities of Karmasangsthan Bank, Dr Chaudhury said the bank has been working to create skilled human resources and entrepreneurs through its various activities including trainings since its establishment in 1998.
At the function, Bangabandhu loan cheques were distributed among 100 local youths from the bank, while with the money from personal fund of the Speaker, 30 wheelchairs and two tricycles were distributed among special needs persons and cheques of total Tk 5 lakh were handed over to the head teachers of 10 educational institutes to purchase sports items.
Besides, cheques of Tk 15,000 were given to each 30 poor and unemployed people of Pirganj Upazila from the Religious Affairs Ministry in the event.
Senior Secretary of Financial Institution Division Md Ashadul Islam, Chairman of Karmasangsthan Bank Kaniz Fatema and Managing Director of Karmasangsthan Bank Md. Tajul Islam also spoke at the function presided over by Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Md Asib Ahsan.
Pirganj Upazila Parishad Chairman Nur Mohammad Mandal, Pirganj Upazila Awami League President Azizur Rahman Ranga and Pirganj Municipality Mayor ASM Tajimul Islam Shamim also addressed the function.
