A mild heatwave is sweeping over parts of the country including Dhaka, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
“A mild heatwave is sweeping over Rangpur division and the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Kishoreganj, Rajshahi, Bogura, Sirajganj and Sylhet and it may abate from some places,” it said.

The BMD also predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind in most places over Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Dhaka, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.
Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through India’s Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh.
One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
