The parliamentary body came up with the recommendation at its 6th meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad with its chairman Muhammad Faruk Khan in the chair.
The committee discussed the progress in the repatriation process of Rohingyas displaced from Myanmar and the latest stance of Myanmar over the issue, said a Parliament Secretariat handout.
In February last, the repatriation of displaced Myanmar refugees from Thailand started and several hundred Rohingya refugees have already been sent back to Myanmar in phases.
The parliamentary watchdog also recommended the Home Ministry to take harsh action against identified Bangladeshi syndicates engaged in human trafficking for the sake of protecting innocent people and upholding the image of the country.
The committee suggested the Foreign Ministry to continue its efforts so that international community plays effective role in bringing back Bangladeshis who are staying abroad illegally.
Committee members Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, state minister Md Shahriar Alam, Md Abdul Majid Khan, Md. Habibe Millat, Nahim Razzaq, Kazi Nabil Ahmed and Nizam Uddin Jalil (Jhon) attended the meeting.
