The call was made at two recent meetings of the Local Government Division upon the directive of the Governance Unit of PM’s Office.

Request has been made to those slaughtering sacrificial animals to clean up after themselves.

People have also been requested to remove wastes on their own if ‘Qurbani’ is offered at the premises of the organisations.

“City corporations, municipalities, Upazila parishad and Union Parishad will take necessary measures to ensure slaughtering of sacrificial animals at the designated places across the country”.

“None would be allowed to offer ‘Qurbani’ in open spaces or on the roads,” it was decided.

The meeting was also apprised that people will be informed about the specific places for slaughtering sacrificial animals through electronic digital board at each sacrificial animal haat.

Steps will also be taken to the specific places for slaughtering animals will be made healthy and there will be cover considering the monsoon season.

“Measures will also be taken for drainage to remove the blood of the slaughtered animals,” the meeting said suggesting that local youth organisations as well as cooperative bodies could be incorporated in slaughtering of sacrificial animals.

The meeting also informed that arrangement has been made to organise medical team in coordination with veterinary surgeon in each sacrificial animal hats. The medical team will detect the animals and sick animals also which were being used by harmful steroid.

Besides, the Imams of the mosques have been requested to make people aware about the positive impact and necessity of slaughtering sacrificial animals in specific locations.

Meanwhile, the Home Ministry has taken measures have also been taken for necessary safety of the sacrificial animal hats and slaughtering of sacrificial animals.

Moreover, “Bangladesh Bank has taken necessary measures to identify fake notes at the cattle markets.”
