Covered with a cloth the lone digital X-ray machine at Kushtia General Hospital has been out of service for past the two and a half years amid allegation that the company which installed it is ignoring calls to repair it.
According to hospital sources, the 500MA X-ray machine, sanctioned by DGHS in 2017, was installed by Bengal Scientific & Surgical Company installed it at a cost of TK 3 lakh.
Two years late the machine went out of service due to film printing problem but no initiative has been taken from that company to fix it, sources added.

Abul Khair, a Diploma Medical Technologist (Radiogram), said the hospital has a total of 10 X-ray machines. But the hospital's most expensive and only digital X-ray machine has been out of order.
Hospital Superviser Dr Abdul Momen said the company was approached by the hospital authorities at least 10 times over the issue. But there was no response.
