A man was stabbed to death by his rivals over a land dispute in Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi on Monday.
The deceased, Dwin Islam, 38, was son of Moselh Uddin of Patuarpar area under the upazila.
Police and locals said there was a longstanding dispute between the Dwin and his neighbour Anwar Hossain over the ownership of a piece of land in the village.
Their supporters locked in an altercation centring the matter in the morning when Dwin Islam and his brother Nazrul Islam allegedly first attacked Anwar.

At one stage, Anwar and his supporters stabbed Dwin Islam with sharp weapons, leaving him dead. The clash also left Anwar injured.
Firoz Talukdar, officer-in-charge of Shibpur police station, said the body was sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Process is underway to take legal action in this regard, he said.
