Students of Class VII, VIII, IX and X performed a show on the life of the American civil rights movement leader where they depicted his achievements, remarkable speech and the story of the his assassination.
While presenting various visions of Martin Luther King, students performed the key anthem of the Civil Rights Movement - ‘We Shall Overcome’.
Vice Principal Mohammad Aminur Rahman inaugurated the programme which was facilitated by Md Mahady Hasan and the Assistant Prof Md Golam Noor.
Principal Syeda Nasrin Akhter in her concluding speech said: “We remember Martin Luther King Jr, and we appreciate his sacrificing life for a dream he believed in.”
A man like him never dies, the principal added.
Born on January 15, 1929, Martin Luther King Jr played a leading role in the American civil rights movement from the mid-1950s and eventually became not only the symbolic leader of American blacks but also a world figure.
He received the Nobel Peace Prize at the age of thirty-five. Martin Luther King Jr fought for the rights of his people until his assassination on April 4, 1968.
