The country is set to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest festival of the Muslims on August 1.
The Mayor came up with the remarks while talking to the journalists after attending a programme marking National Fisheries Week at Dhanmondi in the afternoon.
DSCC has leased 11 cattle markets centering the Eid-ul-Azha and stern action will be taken if anyone violates the rule of health guidelines in the cattle markets, he said.
“No one is allowed to extend the area of the cattle markets into residential areas,” Taposh said, adding that “There is no scope of settling illegal animal markets, it will be strictly monitored.”
Talking about the waterlogging problem of the capital, he said a project centering ten ponds and canals of the city has been taken to resolve the matter which will be submitted shortly.
