Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen today condoled the demise of former deputy minister for finance, AFM Fakhrul Islam Munshi, also an advisory council member of Awami League.
In a condolence message, the foreign minister said Munshi worked relentlessly for the welfare of the country and nation.

The nation will always recall him with veneration for his role in the country’s Liberation War, the condolence message said.
Momen prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy for the bereaved family members.

The former deputy minister breathed his last at the age of 76 while undergoing treatment at a Dhaka hospital yesterday.
Munshi was born in Debidwar of Cumilla and was elected MP from his constituency in 1986 and 1988.
