Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar has said book publishing is not just a business, it is related to the heart.
There are many publishers who can't earn as much as a day laborer after paying all expenses, the minister said while addressing the opening ceremony of the 42nd Annual General Meeting of the Bangladesh Book Publishers and Sellers Association (Bapus) at the Engineers Institution in the capital as the chief guest.

"You can be in a much better position even if you sell tea or betel leaf. I think the people who are involved here are doing a great job. So being in this profession is also a matter of pride," Jabbar added.
President of Bangladesh Book Publishers and Sellers Association Md Arif Hossain Choton presided over the event while vice-president of the association Qaiser-e-Alam Pradhan, Shyamal Pal, Mirza Ali Ashraf Kashem, Wahiduzzaman Sarkar Jamal, Mazharul Islam, former president Alamgir Sikder Lawton and adviser Osman Gani spoke as the special guests.

The Vice President of Bangladesh Book Publishers and Sellers Association Shyamal Pal presented a written speech entitled 'Bapus: Convinced in the formation of Smart Bangladesh'.
The meeting was attended by directors of Bangladesh Book Publishers and Sellers Association, leaders of 64 districts and upazila branches of the country and book dealers.
