Abdur Rahman Badi, Awami League-backed former lawmaker from Cox’s Bazar’s Teknaf constituency and much criticized for his alleged involvement in Yaba peddling from Myanmar, has been arrested by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Chattogram city on Tuesday.
The arrest took place on Tuesday around 8pm, from GEC intersection under Panchlaish police station of the city.
RAB-7 Media Officer Shariful Islam confirmed the matter saying that Badi was arrested based on secret information. Details regarding the arrest will be shared later.
According to RAB sources, Badi is being taken to Cox's Bazar where he will be shown arrested in connection with previous cases filed against him.
Further information will be released by the RAB headquarters in Dhaka at a later time.
