Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Niloufer Manzur, the founding principal of English medium school Sunbeams.
The Prime Minister prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved families.
Renowned educationist Niloufer Manzur died from Covid-19 earlier today (May 26) at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka. She was 74.
She leaves behind her husband Syed Manzur Elahi, former adviser to a caretaker government and chairman of Apex Footwear Ltd, son, daughter, grandchildren and a large host of friends, admirers and students.
Niloufer Manzur was the daughter of late Dr Mafiz Ali Chowdhury, a former minister in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's cabinet in 1972.
