Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday paid tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of his 102nd birth anniversary and the National Children's Day-2022
She paid the homage by placing a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at historic Dhanmondi-32 here in the morning.
After laying the wreath, Sheikh Hasina stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation, the architect of independent Bangladesh.
A smartly turned out contingent of the armed forces gave a guard of honour on the occasion.
A special munajat was offered seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu and his family members.
The nation is celebrating the 103rd birthday of Bangabandhu today in a befitting manner. The day, which is a public holiday, is also being observed as the National Children’s Day.
Marking the day, the Prime Minister will also lay a wreath at the mausoleum of Bangabandhu at Tungipara in Gopalganj at 11:00am.

Hasina, also the eldest daughter of Bangabandhu, will join a programme titled ‘Tungipara: Hridoye Pitribhumi’ there at 2.30pm on the occasion of his birth anniversary and the National Children’s Day.
The PM will leave Tungipara for Dhaka by a helicopter on Thursday afternoon.
