Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of the Bangabandhu’s former private secretary, former principal secretary to the Prime Minister and valiant Freedom Fighter Syed Abdus Samad.
In a condolence message Sheikh Hasina said that while he was ADC in Rangamati, former CSP Syed Abdus Samad left Pakistani side and joined the then Mujibnagar Government.

“He was an honest, skilled, courageous and sincere government officer,” she recalled.
She also recalled the contribution of Abdus Samad in the Ganges Water Sharing Treaty with India and the CHT Peace Treaty.

She prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family.
