A police constable was found dead at the staff quarters of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the city's Elephant Road area on Thursday.
Police recovered the body of Mazharul Islam, 23, who was posted at the headquarter of Anti-Terrorism Unit in Baridhara.

Mazharul, also son of Shafiullah Bhuiya, hailed from Dighaldi village of Araihajar upazila of Narayanganj district.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Newmarket police station Md. Maksudur Rahman said they recovered the body of Mazharul from the rented room on the ground floor of the quarter this noon.

The body was sent to the emergency department of DMCH around 6 pm after due procedures. Later, the body was sent to the hospital morgue for post-mortem, he added.
Mazharul might have committed suicide, said the SI, adding that the actual reason will be known after getting the autopsy report.
