President Mohammed Shahabuddin on Wednesday called upon public representatives to create opportunities for the children so that they can engage themselves in sports.
He made this call at the opening ceremony of Smart Children Carnival at Shilpakala Academy Wednesady afternoon.
The ICT Division is organizing the event creating a scope for the children from across the country to participate in games, quiz competition and storytelling in groups and enjoying other rides that would help them boost their latent talents.
The President said that this event will give children an opportunity to get acquainted with sports, new technology and many other things alongside academic activities.
"Even though there are limited opportunities for sports now, we should do as much as possible," he said.
Highlighting the development and progress of the country, President Shahabuddin said, “In continuation of the success of the implementation of Vision 2021 under the leadership of the Prime Minister, our goal is to build a smart Bangladesh by 2041.”
He urged everyone to work together to establish Smart Bangladesh under the leadership of the Prime Minister.
The President also urged the children to develop themselves as smart citizens of Smart Bangladesh.
State minister for primary and mass education Jakir Hossain, state minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, ICT Division Secretary Md Shamsul Arefin and Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Executive Director Ranajit Kumar were also present during the opening ceremony.
Earlier, president Md. Sahabuddin visited various the exhibitions in Smart Children Carnival.
The four-day international standard children's festival titled 'Smart Children Carnival' began in the city today for the first time in the country to build the future generation equipped with innovative, creative, non-communal spirit, human qualities and patriotism.
A website www.sheikhhasina.gov.bd has been developed so that children can learn science, technology, morality, ethics and culture through playing games.
