The rail communication with Mymensingh and the rest of the country resumed around four and a half hours after students of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) lifted their blockade on the Dhaka-Mymensingh railway line.
The students blocked the railway from 4:45pm to 9:15pm on Tuesday.
Rail communication was normalized at 9:15pm when the Dhaka-bound Jamalpur Commuter Train, which had been halted near the BAU platform due to the blockade, resumed its journey.
Mymensingh Railway Station Superintendent Md. Nazmul Haque Khan confirmed the resumption of rail services.
Earlier on Tuesday afternoonthe BAU students staged protest marches demanding quota reforms and condemning attacks on general students in various places across the country.
