Heavy rains damaged Aman paddies in over 2,000 hectares in the past couple of days in Singra and Naldanga upazilas of northern district of Natore.
The downpour also damaged vegetables on vast tracts of land in the affected areas, locals said.
Farmers of Sadar upazila informed that vegetable fields under all unions went under water causing massive damage.

People of low-lying and residential areas including Uttar-Dakshin Choukirpars, Balaripara, Bangojjal, Rajbari, Alipur, Uposhahar, Kalurmorr of district headquarters are still stranded in logged water.
Sadar Municipality mayor Uma Chowdhury Joly informed that they have already launched renovation works of drains to ease water logging.

Abdul Wadud, deputy director at district Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), said they recorded 95mm rainfall in the last 24 hours and the highest rainfall was recorded in the Sadar upazila.
