Amid the worsening Covid -19 situation and the lockdown, the district administration of Chuadanga launched an online cattle market to sell and buy sacrificial animals.
A Facebook page, ‘Online Pashuhaat, Chuadanga’ has been opened on behalf of the local administration, said deputy commissioner Nazrul Islam Sarkar while speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday.

He urged all the residents of the district to buy or sell sacrificial animals through online haat.
The local administration has taken the decision to launch the digital haat considering the current lockdown and the worsening Covid-19 situation.

Last year, the local administration had opened an online haat before Eid-ul-Azha and got a huge response from people, Nazrul recalled.
This year, some 1,12,955 sacrificial animals are there in the district against the demand for 75,000, he said.
