A fire that broke out in a launch at Sadarghat Launch Terminal's Lalkuthi ghat area on Friday morning has been brought under control.
There was no passenger in the launch, Mayur-7, as all had left it before the fire broke out.
On information, 13 firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 12.10pm, said Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters media cell.
Rafiq Ullah, a owner of Mayur-7 launch, said that the launch reached the terminal from Chandpur at around 10:30am.
The fire might have originated due to explosion of an air conditioner in a cabin of the launch, he said.
