Polytechnic Industrial Attachment has been launched by IT organization PeopleNTech of Bangladesh to produce educated and experienced workers with technical knowledge for the industrial development of the country in technical and work-oriented education.
It was held on Sunday (September 10) at Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib auditorium of the National Museum in the capital.
The seminar on Industrial Skills for Global Career and Orientation of Polytechnic Industrial Attachment was held for around five hundred students from all over the country.
Chief Executive Officer of PeopleTech Institute of IT and the Chancellor of Washington University of Science and Technology in the United States Engineer Abubokor Hanip, attended the event while Professor Sazzad Hossain was present as the chief guest
Dr. Sazzad Hossain said, 'There is no alternative to polytechnic education to make a country prosperous. Hands on training is important for polytechnic students. Polytechnic students are never unemployed.
He also said , 'There is no discrimination in developing yourself. What is required is skill. We have to create ourselves with our own skills. For this purpose Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has announced to create a smart Bangladesh by the year 2041. We have to create that smart Bangladesh.'
PeopleNTech founder and Chancellor and Chairman of Washington University of Science and Technology Engineer Abubokor Hanip said that usually academic subjects are studied in universities, but if you want to work in the industry, you need industry knowledge, you need skills, you need experience, because it is not taught in universities so later we have problems getting jobs.
He said, 'Our IT institute PeopleNTech has about 67 courses, each course will cost TK20 to 30 thousand but for polytechnic students these courses will cost TK7 to 8 thousand because we have given discount only for polytechnic students so that they can become skilled and develop themselves and later serve the country,"
"We have been able to give jobs to about ten thousand Bangladeshis in the mainstream of America. Those who could normally earn 50 thousand dollars per year, are now working in the main stream of America after training from PeopleTech and they are now earning 150 thousand dollars per year.
He also said students, "If you try, you can go wherever you want to go. He said that in this era of globalization, you should be able to work in any country from anywhere in the world, so you have to develop yourself efficiently."
Member of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and Chief Executive Officer of Technogram AKM Ahmedul Islam Babu, PeopleNTech Director Sathi Begum and PeopleNTech Advisor Abul Hossain Mia, PeopleNTech Vice President Mashrul Hossain Khan Leone, Chief Operating Officer Abdul Hamid and other officials of the company were also present.
