Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized smuggled goods, arms, ammunition and drugs worth Tk 112.89 crore across the country in March.
The seized drugs include 2,97,070 Yaba pills, 5.754 Kg crystal meth, 21,158 bottles of phensedyl, 23,336 bottles of foreign liquor, 415 liters of local liquor, 2,696 cans of beer, 2,308 kg cannabis, 17.557 kg heroin, 1,90,690 packets cigarettes, 25,718 injections, 4,185 Eskuf syrups, 1,601 bottles of MkDil/Cofidil, 3,33,707 different types of medicines and 68,553 tablets, said a BGB media release on Monday.
Other smuggled items include 9.877 kg gold, 6.433 kg silver, 4,25,468 cosmetics, 5,711 imitation jewelries, 13,170 sarees, 1,706 three-piece/shirt-piece/bed-sheet/blankets, 7,413 readymade garments, 1,082 cft timber, 5,704 kg of tea leaves, 90,634kg of coal, 871 kg of current nets, four covered vans, four pick-up, 61 motorcycles, 13 private cars/microbuses and 27 CNG/battery autorickshaws.
Seized arms include two pistols, one mortar shell, one magazine and three round bullets.
Meanwhile, BGB arrested 191 smugglers, 77 Bangladeshi nationals and nine Indian nationals who tried to cross the border illegally.
