The High Court on Wednesday asked the authorities concerned to allow Tafsir Mohammad Awal, son of BNP leader Abdul Awal Mintoo, to go abroad.
The HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder passed the order after disposing of a rule in this regard, said Advocate Khurshid Alam, a counsel of the Anti-Corruption Commission.
On March 1, Immigration police barred Tafsir from going to UK at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Later, Tafsir, also a citizen of the USA, filed a writ petition seeking its directive to allow him to traveling abroad on the following day.
The court issued a rule asking the government to explain as to why the act of obstructing Tasfir to go abroad should not be declared illegal.
According to the notice of the ACC issued on October 4, 2020, the airport immigration police barred Tafsir from travelling abroad. But the High Court declared the notice illegal on February 24, 22.
