The Minister came up with the call while talking at an online inter-ministerial meeting over mosquito-borne disease prevention activities, held at the Secretariat.
“Refrain from excessive talking while holding a responsible post. We should work to make a comfortable environment for the people where they can live calmly. Our Prime Minister is working relentlessly to change the fate of the people. So we have to work for the welfare of people,” he said.
Tajul also said no negligence in spraying pesticides will be tolerated.
“All including the public representatives of the city corporations will be accountable for their duties,” he said.
He also urged people to keep their houses and surrounding areas clean so that aedes mosquitoes can’t use their places as breeding ground.
Besides, the Minister also informed that a master plan was formed to keep the rivers in Dhaka including Buriganga and Turag and its surrounding areas free from grabbers. The authorities concerned of Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (DWASA) have been asked to call for a meeting over this.
Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Atiqul Islam, Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, senior secretary to Local Government Division Helaluddin Ahmed, secretaries to different ministries and managing director of WASA were present at the meeting.
