Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will start selling edible oil, pulse and rice at subsidised rates in Dhaka and Chattogram from Thursday.
“Both cardholders and those who don’t have family cards can purchase products from TCB trucks from now,” according to a TCB press release .
Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud will inaugurate the sale programme at 10am on Thursday at Dakshin Begunbari (Deepika Mor) in the Tejgaon Industrial Area.
The three essential products will be sold through 50 and 20 trucks in the capital and the port city.
Edible oil will be sold at Tk 100 per liter, rice at Tk 30 per Kg and pulse at Tk 60 per Kg respectively.
The TCB's subsidized sales programme will run until November 30. However, the release noted that activities may be expanded later if inflation remains above tolerable level.
