Everyone should plant more trees to keep the environment livable Environment, and teachers and students can play an important role in motivating people to this end, said Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin.
“If we all plant trees together, the country will once again become greener and more self-sufficient,” he said while inaugurating the newly constructed up-and-down building of Barlekha Girls' High School in Baralekha upazila of Moulvibazar and marking the 48th death anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is doing everything possible to improve the quality of education in the country and the government is working for women empowerment, for which various measures are being taken to educate women, said the minister.
"If we can educate all of our women, we will get an educated nation. There is no alternative to building an educated nation to build a smart Bangladesh, he also said.

Presided over by Barlekha Upazila Parishad Chairman Soyeb Ahmed Ahmed, the meeting was attended, among others, by Moulvibazar District Education Engineering Department Executive Engineer Md Shamsul Arefin Khan, former Chairman of Barlekha Upazila Parishad and Acting General Secretary of Upazila Awami League Rafiqul Islam Sundar and Mayor of Barlekha Municipality Abul Imam Md Kamran Chowdhury.
Later, the minister distributed tins and cheques among the families affected by natural disasters under the humanitarian assistance programme at Barlekha Upazila Parishad auditorium.
