Dhaka, June 16 (UNB)- The Traffic Department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police filed 6,850 cases and also realized Tk31 lakh in fines during a capital-wide drive against traffic rules violators conducted on Saturday.
Besides, 29 vehicles were also taken off the road during the day-long drive.
Among the cases, 1,526 were booked for driving on the wrong side, 94 for using hydraulic horns and 21 for using tinted glass.
Besides, 2312 motorcycles were sued for violation of traffic rules while 120 bikes were seized during the drive, said DMP deputy commissioner (media) Masudur Rahman.
He said that seven cases were filed against drivers for using mobile phones while driving.
