Referring to last night’s train burning incident in Dhaka’s Gopibagh, Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) Director General Binayak Sen has said such tragic events are likely to be organised by those who are trying to dissuade people from going to the polls on January 7.
"I am afraid that more such events would occur," he said.
The economist said such mindless terrorist acts have been committed before.

"Can the opposition claim that their hands are clean?" he wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter.)
French Ambassador to Bangladesh Marie Masdupuy said as already stated before, violence leads nowhere.
"Wholehearted condolences to the families of the 4 victims. Eager to know the results of the judicial investigation after this new tragedy," she said.
