Police recovered the body of a 52-year-old transport worker from a locked flat in Sayedabad area of Dhaka on Thursday.
The man has been identified as Abdul Khaleq who was a member of Transport Labourers' Union on Chattogram Road in Narayanganj.
Mafizul Alam, officer-in-charge of Jatrabari police station, said that they recovered the body from a room of the flat on the fifth floor of the building in the Sayedabad area on Thursday afternoon.

Though the main door of the room was locked from inside, there was an alternative way to enter it, he said.
Neighbours informed police in the afternoon after smelling odour from the room where some people used to live as bachelor, he said, adding that nobody was found in the room.
The man might have died around two to three days back, he said. The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Alam said that the reason behind the death would be known upon autopsy.
